Richard Barnes Canada, 59, Patty Ridge Road, Dunnville, Ky. died Tuesday, Feb. 22. 2011 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

He was born January 2, 1952 in Somerset, Ky. to Vera Loretta Barnes Canada and the late Raymond Earl Canada. He did construction world with steel buildings and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his mother; a brother, Donald Lewis Canada, Somerset; a daughter, Tiana (and John) McQueary, Dunnville; and three grandchildren, Hayley Popplewell, Morgan McQueary, and John Riley McQueary.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Estle and Madeline Barnes; and his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Effie Canada.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m., CST (noon EST) at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Ky., with Pastor James Merkel officiating. Burial will be at the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
