Raymond E. Canada, 74, Mimosa Drive, Somerset, died Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Florida.

He was born November 15, 1927 in Frazer, Kentucky, a son of the late Rufus and Effie Canada, Wayne County. He was a retired truck driver for First Fleet in Cleveland, Tennessee, and also worked for Crane Plumbing Factory in Ferguson. He was a U.S. Air Force Sgt., serving in the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post #38, and a member of Tuttles Methodist Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta (Barnes) Canada, whom he married March 26, 1949 in Burnside; two sons, Richard B. Canada, Russell Springs and Donald L. Canada, Somerset; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter, both of Russell Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Branscum, Mary Jones, and Georgia Canada; and one brother, Irvine O. Canada.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 2 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. J.S. New officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
