Built a memorial Chapel for his wife in the cemetery in 1968. The chapel and monuments were destroyed by vandals. His father, Henry Preston Evans changed his name to Henry Franklin Allen according to his military record stated by the Veterans Administration. He remarried after Sophia Cordelia Brown died, and his descendants from his second family all carry the Allen surname.

He has his name engraved on the monument to his wife Electa in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, however there is no death date engraved and he remarried, so he may have changed his mind and was buried beside his wife Opal.
