Mirise Knee Deep in Gold
An interesting letter has been received from Paul Mirise, who left Coshocton recently for the Black Hills of South Dakota and is now located in a mining camp at Deerlick. He is enjoying the novelty of the situation very much, never having been in a gold mining region before. There are railroad facilities out there but he state that in one place it requires 35 minutes to cover a distance of 2.5 or 3 miles. Panning gold is also a very interesting sight to him. He is associated with his uncle, who has considerable experience in the mining business. Paul says he can't get along without the Daily Age and writes to have it sent to him right away.
