23 Mar 1944, Coshocton TribuneLewis C Mirise dies Early Today at Home in Roscoe. Lewis C "Skippy" Mirise, 71, died at 2am today at his home in Roscoe after a long illness from the effects of a paralytic stroke which he suffered June 4, 1942. He was born Sept 1, 1872 in Bethlehem Township, Coshocton County, the son of Leander and Sophia Schott Mirise. He had spent his entire life in Roscoe and lived 65 years in the house in which he died. In 1897 he married Lulu B Shannon, who died in July 1907. On June 16, 1910, he married Mary Estella Watson, who survives. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Surviving are a half brother LeRoy Mirise of Columbus, OH., and several nieces and nephews, and cousins. Mr. Mirise was a charter member and past president of the local Izaak Walton League, president of the Coshocton County Dog club, a member of the Resources Council, county homemaking committee and the Muskingum Valley grange. Funeral services will be held at the Roscoe Methodist Church at 2:30 Sunday. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 7pm Thursday.
