George A. Durst, 70, of Somerset, died Feb. 24, 1994, at his home. Born April 20, 1923, in Somerset, son of the late Milton and Cora Durst. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan (Christner) Durst; one son, Keith M. Durst and Barb, Friedens; 2 daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Daub (Debbie) Somerset; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Griffith (Tracy) Somerset; one grandchild, Christopher Durst; 6 brothers: John Durst, Somerset; Lee Durst, Ohio; Abram Durst, Johnstown; Frank Durst, Ohio; Clark Durst, Somerset; Henry Durst, Massachusetts; 2 sisters: Bessie Beam, Somerset, and Louise Spangler, Ohio, and one brother-in-law, Dave Christner, California. He was predeceased in death by one sister, Alice Houpt, Somerset, and one brother, William Durst, Somerset. Member of the First Christian Church. World War II veteran. A life member of VFW Post 554. No public service will be held at George's request. A small family service will be held at Somerset County Memorial Park to be conducted by Rev. William Sleasman.
