Bessie Pearl Beam, 100, of Somerset, died July 9, 2013 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born Aug. 30, 1912 in Somerset County, daughter of Milton John and Cora Elizabeth (Miller) Durst. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Henry Joseph Beam who died March 28, 1983, brothers William, George, Lee, Abram, John and Franklin Durst; sisters: Louise Spangler and Alice Houpt, and son-in-law Andrew Stern. Survived by children: Leoma Stern of Friedens, Mary Jane Lichty of Somerset, Milton C. Beam of Somerset, grandchildren: Sandy Hartline of Rockwood, Ronald Lee Stern of Harrisburg, Gregory Lichty of New Jersey, Bradwin Lichty of Tuscon, Ariz., Travis Beam and Sean Beam of Somerset, Stephanie Ritenour of Somerset, nine great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Brothers: Clark Durst of Somerset, Henry Durst of Massachusetts. Bessie worked for 24 years for Hidden Valley Resort. Friends received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home Somerset where services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 with the Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating.
