Anton Nelson, 79, of Exira died Tuesday at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon. He was born April 23, 1904 in Shelby County near Elkhorn, the son of Nels and Christina Petersen Nelson. He attended in Shelby County schools and farmed near Anita and Brayton. Mr. Nelson was married June 1, 1952 to Margaret J. Hansen, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita. They farmed near Brayton until retiring and moving to Exira in 1978. Surviving are his wife of Exira; a sister, Anna Hansen of Atlantic; two brothers, Bill and Jim Nelson of Atlantic; a sister in law, Alvina Nelson of Dexter and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Andrew Nelson. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. R. Carol Johnson at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19 at the Exira funeral home.
