KERRVILLE — Services for Joan Auld Hallmark, 72, of Kerrville who died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at her residence after a long bout with Progressive Superanuclear Palsy. She was a long time resident of Kerr and Real County having ancestors that founded and helped settle these counties. She was born Donna May Auld, the second of twins, July 29, 1927, in Kerrville to Dan and Gussie May Brown Auld. She graduated from Tivy High School in 1945. She also attended Stephens College for Women in Missouri. She was a rancher all her life in Kerr, Concho, Real counties. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Her kindness, strong will and hard work was admired by all that met her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Aydeen Auld. Survivors include her husband, Harold Hallmark of Kerrville; daughter, Milann Powell of Pine Bluff, Ark.; son, Mac Powell and his wife Liz of Pilot Point, Texas; daughter, Jan Wilkinson and her husband Buddy of Menard, Texas; son, Mark Powell and his wife Connie of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren Susie Powell, Kathy Matthews and her husband Billy, Scooter Powell, Steven Wilkinson, Wilson Wilkinson, Sarah Wilkinson, Hali Powell, Mason Powell; great-grandson Preston Guy Matthews; sister, Mary Louise Lehman and her husband Ray; twin brother Jack Auld and his wife Corky; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Cindy Spriggs and Anita Aguirre for the loving care they gave Joan. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Chapel of Overby Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at later date in the Garden of Memories cemetery. Overby Funeral Home of Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.
