Gladys was born July 11, 1919, in rural Eldridge, to Herman G. and Caroline Meier Martens. She married Louis Claussen Dec. 23, 1944, in Davenport. He died May 10, 1982.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Donna Claussen, granddaughter, Abigail Claussen, all of Walcott; and sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Melvin Best, Stockton, Iowa.
