Burgenland History: In 1043 a peace treaty between Henry III and King Samuel Aba of Hungary fixed the western border of Hungary along the Leitha and Lafnitz rivers, among others. The territory of the present-day Burgenland remained the western border-zone of Hungary until 1920. The demise of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy occured in 1918 and World War I set the date of Burgenland's official unification with Austria as August 28, 1921.

Jakob Denk is the next owner of House 50. He was born in 1769 as the son of Johann Denk from House 22,. Jakob was married in 1790 to Mary Lang, from House 3. From this marriage there were several children. Jacob died and his widow married a Michael Unger of House 64. There were no children from the second marriage.

House 64:

Paul Unger is on the Urbarial List of 1767 as part owner of House 64.
Paul Unger married Eva Koppi in 1760. Paul and Eva have three children listed at House 64, Eva, Josef and Michael Unger.

1. Eva Unger (b. 1771) married George Pilles in 1791. George is the son of Michael of House 108.

2. Josef Unger (b. 1776) married Maria Bohm in 1796. Maria is the daughter of Matthias Bohm of House 57.Josef and Maria had a daughter, Eva.
----- Eva Unger (b. 1801) married widower, Christian Denk (of House 50) in 1823.

Josef Unger's first wife, Maria Bohm, died around 1806 and Josef next married Lorene Gerstel in 1806. Lorene is the daugher of Christian Gerstel.

3. Michael Unger (b. 1778) married Maria Lang in 1798. Maria was the widow of Jakob Denk of House 50.

House 77, main street 4.

Matthias Deutsch (born 1794) is the nearest ascertainable owner of House 77, street 4. He is the son of George Deutsch and Maria Graisy (Maria may be the daughter of Michael Graisy).

Matthias Deutsch (born 1794) married Anna Unger in 1816. Anna is the daughter of Michael Unger of house 50. Matthias died in 1864 in house 63. Matthias and Anna had the following children documented at house 77:

- Eva Deutsch (b. 1818) married Johann Schwarzbauer (son of Johann Schwarzbauer of haus 75, Wallern) in 1837.
- Nikolaus Deutsch (b. 1827) married Anna Deutsch (from Pamhagen) in 1848.
- Josef Deutsch (b. 1836) married Maria Bauer (daugther of Matthias Bauer) in 1861.

The Deutsch left this house before the 1864. Josef Deutsch went to House 82, he emigrated to America after 1875.
