John Edward Powell, 58, of Petersburg died at 8:30 a. m. Wednesday at St. James Hospital in Pontiac.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Myrle Powell of Springfield; three sons, Chester of Petersburg, Ivan and Dennis both of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Marsha Poppenga of Springfield; six sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Dyer of Cantrall, Mrs. Weller of Spaulding. Mrs. Josephine Watts, Mrs. Helen Hawkins and Mrs. Genevie Sanderfield. all of Springfield and Mrs. Harriett Donnely of Sherman; four brothers. George, Wiilis and Harry, all of Springfield and Delbert and of Bloomington: three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Service will at 10:30 a. rn. Friday at Mott and Henring Funeral Home. Athens with Rev. Dick Ice officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery.
