Elmwood - Bessie H. King, 91, Elmwood, formerly of Yates City, died at 3:37 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Trivoli, to Arthur and Myrtle (Warner) Fishel. She married Kenneth A. King on June 18, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1994.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie (Wayne) Dalton of Elmwood; two grandchildren, the Rev. Cathy (Mike) Clark of Peoria, and Jeremy (Denise) Dalton of Elmwood; and one great-grandson, Christopher Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Harold Fishel; and one sister, Dorothy Baysinger.
Bessie was a homemaker and a member of Elmwood United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, where visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. The Revs. Mark Graham and Cathy Clark will officiate. Burial will be at Yates City Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Elmwood United Methodist Church.
