He was born on Oct. 21, 1926, in Oquawka, Ill., to Arthur L. and Myrtle (Warner) Fishel. He first married Patricia Ann Almasi. He then married Mary Neal on May 21, 1982, in Elmwood. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth Jr. (Sue) Fishel of Brimfield, Danny (Janet) Fishel of Brimfield and Tim (Shelly) Fishel of Edelstein; three stepsons, Edward (Nancy) Rushing of Elmwood, Frederick (Jeanette) Rushing of Elmwood and Dennis Rushing of Sun City, Calif.; and one sister, Bessie King of Yates City.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold; and one sister, Dorothy Baysingar.
Kenneth was a press operator for Caterpillar Inc., retiring on Nov. 1, 1988, from the East Peoria plant. He had formerly worked for Admiral in Galesburg and the CB&Q Railroad.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a longstanding member of the Brimfield American Legion post.
He also was a 40+ year member of Farmington Moose Lodge No. 1571.
Cremation will follow services. Private burial will be in Yates City Cemetery.
