MRS. E. S. STROTHER

Mrs. E. S. Strother departed this life on Thursday, January 31, 1919. She leaves to mourn her loss nine children, many grandchildren and hosts of friends.
Dear grandmother, we will miss you so much, But we know you are "asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep from which none ever wake to weep."
Every one who knew grandma loved her. She was ever kind and thoughtful of the people near her.
She was laid to rest in Oakdale cemetery.
Heaven must indeed be sweeter now, because grandmother is there with our Saviour. Through tempest may sweep and the billows may roll, unbroken will be her sweet rest; she's safe from all danger - at peace is her soul. I look on her grave and I know she is gone to live in the beautiful land, but I through God's grace at the glorious dawn again in her presence shall stand.
Her loving granddaughter, HAZEL

First husband was John G. Whittington of Rapides Parish. He was killed by Jayhawkers on his farm near Glenmora, Louisiana abt 1863.
