Son of Even and Mari Christensen. Lars and Julia were married on December 27, 1901. They have 11 children Carl, Minnie, Agnes, Eleanor, Ella, Alfred, Edwin, Arthur, Melvin, Clara and Julius. Lars Evan Christenson, 77, a veteran of the Spanish American War and resident of Bemidji for the past two years, passed away Thursday morning at the Crookston hospital. The deceased was a native of Norway and was born July 9, 1871. In December, 1901 he was married to Julia Anderson and until two years ago they made their home in Eckles township. He is survived by his widow; six sons, Edwin of Ellensburg, Wash.; Julius of Tacoma, Wash.; Carl of Cosby, Ore.; Alfred, Arthur and Melvin of Bemidji; five daughters, Mrs. Harold Roberts and Mrs. Kenneth Rogers both of Bemidji; Mrs. Clara Walsh, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Gunder Torgerson, Fischer, Minn. and Mrs. Orville Helm, Lynd. Minn. Twenty-seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. The Ibertson Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the burial.
