Antonina "Nina" Dias was born on 26 January 1901, on the island of Oahu, City or Honolulu, and Territory of Hawaii. Antonina was one of the children of Jose "Joseph" and Maria "Mary" Jose (Furtado) Dias. She lived with 11 of her siblings, Maria "Mary", Manual, Joseph Jr., Victor, Rose, Clara, Carolinda, Charles, Louis, Georgina, and Alice.
About 1921, on the island of Oahu, in the Hawaiian island chain, she married John Antone Santos. Together they had four children, Edward, Caroline, Dora, and Jennie. They remained together until the death of her husband, John, in 1946.
After the sale of her house , in Kalihi in Hawaii, she moved to Kalihi Valley to live with her son, Edward, and his family. This lasted for a couple of years, when she again moved, this time to live with her daughter, Jennie and her family. Eventually Jennie, her family, and Antonine left the island enroute to the United States, or Mainland as it was known, about 1969.
After which Antonine remained with Jennie and her family as they moved to Duty assignments of Jennies husband. This took Antonine to various states in the United States of America, eventually they settled at Tacoma, Washington.
Later, as Antonina's health began to become fragile she was moved to a assisted living home in Puyallup, Washington.
Then on 25 January 1991, just one day before her 90th birthday, Antonina passed away. She was laid to rest with her husband, John, in the Diamond Head National Cemetery at Honolulu, Hawaii.
