Mrs. Annie Lou Smith Walden, of Mitchell, Georgia, entered into rest Friday, February 15, 1963, at a Sandersville, Georgia hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mount Nebo Baptist Church, Mitchell, Georgia with Elder F.H. York and Elder Ralph W. Riner officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be R.C. Wilcher, John F. Wilcher, James Wilcher, Dwight Kicklighter, F.C. Johnson and Ernest Haddaway. She was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church, a native of Jefferson County, but had made her home in Glascock County for the past 29 years. She was the daughter of the late A.D. Smith. Survivors include her husband, Elder Gus E. Walden of Mitchell, Ga.; four sons, Arthur B. Walden, Horace Walden and Tommy Walden, all of Mitchell, Ga., and Samuel A. Walden, U.S. Army, Fort Rucker, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah Reynolds of Sandersville, Ga., Mrs. Madge Snider of Gibson, Ga., and Mrs. Lois Nesmith of Milledgeville, Ga.; her mother, Mrs. A.D. Smith of Warrenton, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Raley of Mitchell, Ga., Mrs. J.N. Britt, Mrs. Henry McLeroy of Athens, Ga., and Miss Pauline Smith, Warrenton, Ga.; three brothers, Oscar Smith, J.I. Smith and Gilbert Smith, all of Warrenton, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews. S.A. Blanchard Funeral Home.
