Catherine was the daughter of William Hogg(1780-1844 & his wife Margaret Lumsden(1780-1855). She was born in Galashiels, Midlothian, Scotland on 6/22/1822

She immigrated with her parents & her siblings in 1833 and first coming to Philadelphia, Pa & then to Franklinville, as land had opened up & was cheap.

Catherine became the wife of John William WARING(1817-1891)

Their children were:
1. James Henry Waring(1848-1906)
2. Elizabeth Waring(1850-1857)
3. William Wilson Waring(1854-1938)
4. Melvin John Waring(1856-1940)
5. Samuel Hogg Waring(1861-1938)
