Gilbert J. Schoenberger, 82, a native of Kansas City, Kan. and resident of Larose, died at 4:32 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be held at noon Thursday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose, with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose.

He is survived by his wife, Elia Pierce Schoenberger; one son, David Schoenberger; one stepson, Berthman J. Baudoin and wife, Jean; one daughter, Sandy Evans; one stepdaughter, Roberta Larousse and husband, Tom; four brothers, Victor, Richard, and Vincent Schoenberger and Ronnie Lang; one sister, Irene Schoenberger York; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ottilia L. Schoenberger; one son, Kenneth Schoenberger; and 17 siblings.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
