Monette Martin, 24, of the Crittenden Springs Community was killed by a 22 rifle in his own hands last Thursday evening at 6:30. He had started o'possum hunting and returned to his home for the rifle. No shot was heard but the family soon became suspicious and went to search for him. He was found near the home with a bullet wound in his forehead. A coroner's jury Friday morning pronounced the death accidental.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Martin; two brothers, Simeon and Rudell; and four sisters, Miss Lucille Martin, Mrs. Stevie Driver, Mrs. Jewell Gill and Mrs. Madge Hillyard.
