My grandpa Morris lived in Jensen with his mother and father. Where he met Jenny Maude Dennis there they married. Then Morris and Jen moved to Monarch, UT. The Uintah Indian resorvation had just been opened for homesteading. They raised six boys & a daughter. My grandma Jenny had a son in 1928 who lived only 30 min. Morris left Jen in the hospital in Roosevelt and brought the babe back to their homestead. My dad (Cliff) told me how Morris had made a small casket and had the boys gather around to see "Son Woodward". Then he took him up on a hill on their property where he is buried.

They then moved to California to see if Jenny's health would improve.
Morris worked in New Hall, CA for Bill Heart, wrangling horses for movies. Son Glen also worked for Heart.

In a few years, with Jen's health no better they left for home in the Uintah Basin. Grandma Jen told me that when Morris told his boss they were leaving, he begged Morris to stay, he said Morris was the best wrangler he'd ever seen. When Morris said no, grandma said he (Bill Heart) cried. This time they returned without Glen, Charley and Lawrence who were working in the oil fields.

Morris & Jenny moved to Neola, UT where they lost their son Aaron Woodward in 1942 in WWII. Morris would spend endless hours working at the Neola Cemetery making improvements.

Morris was a good fisherman & he loved to fish in the Chain Lakes.
Morris and his brother Charles helped build Fox Lake in the High Uintah's for the irrigation system. They also built a large cabin by the lake. The pines used were huge. Must have been very well constructed because it was still there as of 1998.

Can't wait to see you in the great beyond someday, Grandpa.
