He was the son of Elias Mortimer "Pet" and Amanda Elender Riggs Oldham. His parents are buried in Holly Springs. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Montalba Christian Church and the Disabled American Veterans Association. A native of Montalba, he moved to the Tyler area in 1953. He married Betty Maude Hayes 3 January 1978 in Clark Co, NV. He was residing in Whitehouse at the time of his death. He was survived by his wife of Whitehouse; a son, Robbie Oldham of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsons, Billie Hayes and Ronnie Hayes, both of San Antonio; a daughter, Lana Sue Oldham Hamilton of Mt. Pleasant; two stepdaughters, Wanda Wainner of Tyler and Johnnie Williamson of Hampton, IL; three sisters, Myra Mae Oldham Blount and Coreen Louise Oldham Christopher, both of Tyler, and Edith Elender Oldham Galloway of Montalba; and five grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Wednesday, 19 October 1983.
