ELSIE M. CLOVER
Stronghurst - Mrs. Elsie M. Clover, 71, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18, in the McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born March 26, 1914, near La Harpe, to William and Ruth Hushaw Bennett. She married Kern Clover on April 20, 1935, at Ferris; he died March 14, 1983.
She was a self-employed dealer of cameo figurettes for many years and had served as chairperson of the Henderson County March of Dimes and the United Methodist Women's Society. She was a member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Arlin, La Harpe, and Richard, Langley Air Force Base, VA.; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Elaine) Byers and Carol Clover, both of Roseville, Mrs. Carl (Kathy) Hensley, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Mrs. Ron (LuAnn) Steele, Harper, Kan.; a nephew and three nieces, reared in the Clover home due to the early death of their mother, Kenneth Huffman, Mandeville, LA., Mrs. Jerry (Bonnie) Bunt, Dixon, Mrs. Neil (Ruth Ann) Meyer, Mt. Dora, FL, and Mrs. James (Jeri) McKay, Morcola, Ore.; 23 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence Bennett, Industry, Carl Bennett, Burnside, and Clair Bennett, La Harpe, and a sister, Mrs. Vera Caldwell, Carthage.
