Rosenberg Herald, November 19, 1937:

The members of the St. Paul's church at Needville and many friends of the Needville and Fairchilds communities, were made sad by the passing of one of their most faithful church members and long time residents, Mrs. Anna Dobesh. She was sick for only a short time and fell asleep at the Fort Bend Hospital at Rosenberg after a brave and uncomplaining fight, November 9th at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Anna Dobesh was born November 11, 1867, in Moravia, Europe. In 1892, she married Mr. Joseph Dobesh, who preceded her in death in 1934. Their union was blessed with 12 children, four being born in Europe and 8 in Texas. Two daughters, Agnes and Anna and two boys, Edmund and Frank, preceded the mother in death. In 1897, she left the old country with her husband and four children and came to Texas, first locating in Moravia, near Schulenburg. From there they moved to Smithville. In 1910 they moved to Fort Bend county, where she remained until her death. She was widely known in the Needville and Fairchilds communities, always sweet and friendly.

Mrs. Dobesh was a devout christian woman and a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and lived her faith in every day life. All her sons and daughters followed the good mother in christian faith and all are members of the church.

She died Tuesday, November 9, at 8 p.m. and reached an age of almost 70 years (less two days). She leaves to mourn her departure, four sons and four daughters: Mrs. Emily Wolf, Mrs. Frances Wolf, Mrs. Julia Kovar; Joseph, Jerry, Ludvik, Adolph and Louis, and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held November 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Ernest Wolf at Rosenberg, followed by services at the St. Paul's Church at Needville. Rev. J.R. Vilt conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Jos. Miksovsky of Sealy and Rev. Jos. Zimerman of Weimar, long time friends of the Dobesh family.

Interment took place at the Fairchilds Cemetery. The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg, had charge of funeral arrangements. Her last resting place was a bower of beautiful flowers, placed there by relatives and loving friends.

Sincere sympathy is extended to bereaved loved ones.
