William Godfrey McQuerry was the son of William M. McQuerry, M. D., a homeopathic physician, and Martha Louisa Ruth Degman (1841-1909): Both of whom came from Jessamine County, Kentucky. Mr. McQuerry had three younger brothers--George D. McQuerry (1870-1952), James Claude "Joshua" McQuerry (1872-1947), and Alfred Jackson McQuerry (1878-1974)--and two sisters--Mary Louisa McQuerry Abbott (1860-1933) and Minerva Jane McQuerry Dougherty (1866-1953).
He married Sarah Emma Keller (1861-1953) of Missouri on November 23, 1887, and they were the parents of five children: James Godfrey McQuerry (1881-1977), William Vance McQuerry (1893-1922), Georgia Mae McQuerry Overton (1896-1932), Martha Ann McQuerry Hatch (1900-1982), and Audie Jane McQurry (1903-1987).
