Aurora Beacon News, July 26, 1958:

Mrs. Flora Backes, 59, 811 Gleason Ave., died yesterday at Geneva Community Hospital. Born in Aurora April 10, 1899, she was a member of Our Savior Lutheran church.

She is survived by a son, Wesley G. Backes of Aurora; three grandchildren, Cherry[,]Cindy and Billy Backes of Aurora and a sister, Mrs. Charles Des Jarden of Aurora.

Funeral services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran church at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Paul G. Krentz officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
