Funeral service for Bert L. Wulfjen, a long-time- rancher
here, will-be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in First United
Methodist Church.
Wulfjen, 92, member of a pioneer Mitchell County ranching
family, died Monday in Natchez, Mississippi after a long
illness.
Reverend Billy Wilkinson, pastor of First United Methodist
Church will officiate. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery,
under direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home.
Born in Round Rock December 31, 1877, Wulfjen
came to Colorado City in 1885. He attended high
school in a building which now is the home of Mr.
and Mrs. W . B. Crockett at Fifth and Locust Streets.
While attending Southwestern University in
Georgetown he married Miss Addie Fowler.
They returned to Mitchell County in 1901 and
homesteaded three and a half sections of state land.
Mrs. Wulfjen died in 1956. He was a member of the
First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Sam Geisenberger, Jr.
of Natchez, Mississippi; two sisters, Mrs. Ina Wallis of
Tuscon, Arizona and Mrs. Dera Winn of Colorado City;
one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
