He was born in Bulloch County and lived in Chatham County several years. He was a charter member of Bethel Alliance Church, where he was Sunday School Superintendent for 10 years. He was also a member of Operating Engineers Union.
Surviving are six daughters, Patty McCarty of Pace, Fla., Bobbie Hardy, Ann Dudley and Elaine Miles, all of Savannah, Jenny Roller of Bluffton, S.C., and Vickie Davis of Leander, Texas; four sons, John T., Benny and Hubert Cone, all of Savannah and Tim Cone of Brunswick.
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Massey Chapel Funeral Home, burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park West.
