Tommie was the son of James Johnson and Jessie Lee Johnson. He was educated in the Houston County School System. He was employed as a Construction Worker and was a Volunteer with the Lake Joy Fire Department for 25 years.
He was married to Georgia Mae Jackson Johnson and they had 5 children.
