She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Byron, Georgia where she served as Secretary of the Usher Board, Matron of the Junior Choir and a member of the Senior Choir. She served as Secretary of the Skylight Social Club and was a member of the Sister and Brother Lodge #7. She also was a member of the Progressive Women Club.
She was married to Tommy Johnson.
