Goings Rites
On Dec 18

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 18 at the Wilson Funeral Chapel for Mr. James Roe Goings, Rt #1, who died on December 16 at Annapolis, MO.

Retired, Mr Goings was born on Oct 17, 1898 at Poplar Bluff. He was the son of the late James B Goings and Elizabeth Ray Goings. He married the former Ella Gray Biocere in St Louis on Nov 11, 1921. She survives.

Other surviving relatives include a sister, Mary Goings and a brother, Harvey Goings, both of Poplar Bluff; Mrs. Hazel Cooper, Tucson, AZ; Frances Foster, Los Angeles; Lou Finn, Rolia; Mrs. Babe Goings, Poplar Bluff; James, Bill, Alfred and Ray Goings, Poplar Bluff and Bill Bloodworth, Poplar Bluff.

In addition to his parents, Mr Goings was preceded in death by four brothers, Jeff, Oscar, Tom and Will Goings and a sister, Nellie Hilman.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Mr. Goings was a veteran of World War I.

Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were William Hicks, Orville White, Gus Wagner, Henry Ballew, Ben Moyers and Otto Killian.

The Wilson Funeral Home handled the arrangments.
