Dies at Age 78
Jeff A Goings, 78, a retired farmer of 1002 South 11th St, died Tuesday at his home after a six-year illness.
A life-long resident of Butler County, Mr Goings was born Sept 18 1890 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of the Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church. On May 30, 1921, he married Myrtle Holman, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Raymond Goings of St Louis; a daughter, Mrs. Lula Brandon of Fort Madison, Iowa; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Rowe Goings of Annapolis, MO and Harvey Goings of Poplar Bluff; and a sister, Mrs Mary Garcia of Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Frank-Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bill Emerson will conduct the services and burial will follow in the Black Creek Cemetery.
