Funeral services for Earl Wilbur Bennett, 71, 311 Oak Street, Red Oak, retired carpenter and contractor, were held this afternoon at the Sellergren Funeral Home here. He died Thursday, May 30, at the Veterans Hospital, Omaha, after an illness of seven years.
The Rev. Cecil A. Wells officiated at the services and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery here.
The son of Erastus and Ellen Hoover Bennett, he was born June 16, 1891 at Wayne, Nebraska and had lived in Red Oak since 1907. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Adrian Legion and the masons. He was a World War 1 veteran.
He was married in 1919 to Kitty Karnes, who survives Also surviving are two sons, Marlin of Red Oak, and Stanley, Lapeer, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. James Hansen of Sioux City, South Dakota and Mrs. Sadie Montgomery, San Marino, California.
