The death occurred on Friday, December 4th, of Alverda May Benedict, at her home in Wimborne, Alberta. The late Mrs. Benedict was born on May 1st, 1875 at Oskaloosa, Iowa, and was thus in her 67th year. On December 24th, 1898, she was married to Alfred Eugene Benedict at Ida Grove, Iowa, where their first son was born and died at the age of one and a half years. They moved to the Mayton district in 1902, where they have resided up to the present time.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. J. Rear of Wimborne, and Mildred at home; one son, Burdett; also four grandchildren, Alverda, Cecil and Raymond Rear, and Baby Carol Ann Benedicit.
There are also left to mourn her loss, her mother, Mrs. Ellen Bennett of Friend, Nebraska, who is 93 years of age; also two brothers, Ditton Bennett of Omaha, Neb., and Earl Bennett of Red Oak, Iowa. Six sisters, Mrs. D. Benshoof of Wayne, Neb., Mrs. Ida Briggs of Red Oak, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Benedict of Burnaby, B.C., Mrs. Sam Montgomery of Alajmbra, Cal., Mrs. James Hansen of Hurley, S. Dakota, and Mrs. Albert Range of Friend, Neb.
