Daniel was born in Enkenbach, Pfalz, Bavaria. Initially when he came to the US he lived in Philadelphia with his brother, Sebastian. He moved to Manhattan and met his wife, Maria.
Daniel worked at various jobs which included tailor, carpenter, and lather.
He and his wife had ten children, and all lived to adulthood.
He died on the 4th of August, although the stone carver put the date he was buried on his tombstone.
