The family moved to Converse County, Wyoming when Doug was but an infant, and where he spent the rest of his life. He attended schools in Douglas and graduated from Converse County High School.
Prior to service in World War II, he was a member of the famed Troop K, 115th Cavalry. Doug's father, Rick, was associated with the Wyoming National Guard for twenty years.
Mr. Anthony married Margaret E. Zeiler at Brighton, Colorado on June 21, 1944.
Doug was associated with his brothers in the operation of a service station in downtown Douglas prior to his employment with the Wyoming Highway Department five years before his death.
He was a member of the Douglas Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years. He attained the rank of captain before his retirement in 1967.
Besides his wife, Marge, he was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Sharon) Campbell of Casper, Wyoming; Beverly J. of the family home; a son, Robert James of the family home; two brothers, Rick, Jr., a civilian employee with SAC in Chofu, Japan; and U'Dean of Douglas; and two grandchildren.
