Rick J. Anthony was born at O'Neill, Nebraska on January 27, 1896; the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anthony.

When he was but one year of age, he moved with his parents to Douglas, Wyoming which was his home ever since. He received his education in Douglas schools, leaving in 1916 with the Wyoming National Guard for service on the Mexican border and was called early for overseas duty in World War I.

On July 3, 1922, he was united in marriage to Viola Sater in Douglas. To this union were born three children, all of whom survived him.

Shortly after being discharged from the army, Mr. Anthony became associated with Troop K of the Wyoming National Guard and served as supply sergeant, first sergeant, and custodian of the local armory for many years.

During World War II he was clerk of the local selective service board. He was a charter member of Samuel Mares Post No. 8 American Legion and was active in Legion circles up until his death. He was a past commander of District 2 and was department finance officer for Wyoming from 1945 to 1949.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Wyoming Pioneer Association 40 and 8, International Footprinters, and several probation and parole officer associations.

Surviving him were his wife, Viola; sons, Douglas and Udean; and daughter, Nell Anthony.
