Funeral services for Ozark County native and lifelong resident Truman Etcel Tannehill, 84, of Ocie were held last Saturday, May 27, at the Salem General Baptist Church in Ocie, Revs. Allen Ledbetter and Dennis Cowin officiating.
Mr. Tannehill died at the Stockton Nursing Home in Cedar County last Thursday morning, May 25, 1989, following a long illness.
He was born at Ocie Jan 23, 1905, the son of William and Lola Tannehill. He was married at Ocie April 3, 1928, to Elsie Brown, who preceded him in death April 15, 1983. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Tannehill is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Jones of Stockton, two sisters, Georgia Blanton of Tucson, Ariz.., and Velma Watson of Ava, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, two brothers and one sister.
Interment was in the Lutie Cemetery at Theodosia under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Gainesville.
