Born June 3, 1929, in Bakersville, NC, he was the son of the late George W. and Louvenia (Greene) Ledford.
Donald retired from Firestone Tire Company of Hanover after 33 years of service. Following his retirement, Donald was employed by Rest Haven Cemetery for several years.
He attended Victory Baptist Church, Hanover.
In addition to his wife, Miriam, Donald is survived by two sons, Farrell D. Ledford and wife, Diane of Glenville, and Marshall D. Ledford and his companion, Evelyn of Glenville; one daughter, Alma E. Breedlove and husband, Ray of Hanover; four grandchildren, David R. Breedlove of Hanover, Darrell A. Ledford of Spring Grove, Lisa A. Coradi of McSherrystown, and Rebecca M. Ledford of California; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Myrtle Hetrick of New Oxford, Verna Payne of Hanover, and Lois Schuchart of Hanover.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Ledford; six sisters, Pansy Roop, Pearl Honeycutt, Bernice Putman, Bonnie Frye, Ilo Ledford, and Marie Ledford; and a brother, Junior Ledford.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. June 3, 2011 at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., Hanover, with the Rev. Jason Myers officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
