Junior Ledford, of New Oxford, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his family nearby on the morning of April 14, 2010. He was the husband of Doris L. (Glass) Ledford for 58 years.
Born November 29, 1926, in Bakersville, Mitchell County, NC, he was the son of the late George Washington and Louvenia (Greene) Ledford.
He was a truck driver for Hanover Foods, retiring in 1990. Junior enjoyed NASCAR and all the Ford drivers, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Doris, Junior is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Phyllis L. and Donald Little and Wanda L. and Roger Hughes, and a son and his wife, Trevis A. and Lisa Ledford, all of Hanover; five grandchildren Shawn M. Little, Robbie D. Hughes, Laurie L. Hughes, Christopher A. Ledford, and Tyler W. Ledford; two stepgrandchildren, Stephen Weaver and Samantha Weaver; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Ledford of Hanover; and three sisters, Verna Payne, Lois Schuchart, and Myrtle Hetrick, all of Hanover. He was predeceased by six sisters, Pansy Roop, Pearl Honeycutt, Bernice Putman, Bonnie Frye, Ilo Ledford, and Marie Ledford.
Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
