The 1860 census for Holly Creek, Murray Co., Georgia shows children Elcaney (6 years old), Mary C.(4) and Thomas V.(1), living with parents A.W. and Adeline Jones, A.W.'s occupation, farming. A.W. is Augustus W. Jones.
The 1870 Census for Dacusville, Pickens Co., SC, lists Adeline Jones living with children Jane (15), Thomas (11) and Franklin (8), occupation "housekeeping without". The "without" means without husband. It's a sure thing that Augustus was a war casualty between 1862 and 1864.
The 1880 census for Dacusville lists Elcaney living with husband John, daughter Loula (5), daughter Adaline (3) and son Gustine (1). The 1900 census for Hays, Newton Co., Ga., lists Elcany and family living two households away from brother David Franklin Jones. She is with farmer husband J L Brown (45), son A A (21), daughter Lidie (15), daughter Mittie (13), son Frank (6), son Julius (4) and son Walter (2). The 1910 census for Shady Dale, Jasper Co., Ga., lists Elcaney living with husband John and Children Mittie, Frank, Julius and Walter. The 1920 census for Shady Dale lists 61 year old (Elcaney) Jane living with 62 year old husband farmer John and children Mittie and Julius. The 1930 Shady Dale census lists only Julius.
