Sam Harris was the sixth child (first boy) of Samuel Rogers Harris and Rosalie Hicks. He married (1) Anne (Ruth) Gary, December 29, 1917 in VA. He was in the Navy in Norfolk in WWI. He was my great uncle Sam, and he always gave my sister and me money when he came to visit because he was our 'Uncle Sam'. He was a small man and smoked cigars. He and Aunt Annie never had any children contrary to what one of the reference books says. Aunt Annie died in 1967, and he married (2) Garnette Myers, December 29, 1968. He is buried with his first wife in the Gary section of the cemetery.
