Thomas Watson Cross Sr., 86, of Greenville, died Thursday at Kings' Daughters
Hospital after an illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Independent Baptist Church in
Inverness. Rev. Forrest P. Wolfe will officiate. Burial will follow in the
Roundaway Cemetery in Roundaway.
Card Funeral Home of Indianola has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cross was born near Inverness. He was a retired farmer. Three years ago,
Mr. Cross moved to Greenville to make his home. He was a member of the
Independent Baptist Church in Inverness.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Emma Hathcock Cross of Greenville; three
daughters, Mrs. Emma Dell Birr of Roseville, Mich., Mrs. Eva Mae Williams of
Greenwood and Mrs. Ann Johnson of Greenville; six sons, Thomas W. Cross, Jr. of
Sturgis, Willie P. Cross of Clarksdale, Bobby Gene Cross of Jackson, Lee R.
Cross, Linton Cross and Clinton Cross, all of Greenville; 29 grandchildren and
38 great-grandchildren.
