Her older sister, Sally Helen Hatcher Lowry married Doctor's older brother, Rev. Edmond Lowry. Sally is also buried at Hopewell.

Mrs. D. F. Lowry, 53, died early Sunday at her home in Pembroke after several weeks' illness, and funeral services were to be conducted this morning from the residence, with burial in Hopewell cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. D. F. Lowry, pastor of Pembroke parish, in the North Carolina Methodist conference; four sons, Earl Lowry of Atlanta, Ga., Kermit, Fred and Bruce Lowry of Pembroke; and four daughters, Miss Lessie Lowry of Oregon, Miss Ouida Lowry of East Moline, Ill., Mrs. Robert Evans of Nashville, Tenn., and Miss Cynthia B. Lowry of Pembroke; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Lowry was a native of Marlboro County, SC. She had been a resident of Pembroke for the past eight years.
