William D. Meints, 68, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Grandview Manor in Grandview, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 1, with burial in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
William was born in Belmond on December 15, 1936, the son of William L. and Tillie Henn Meints. He was a Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Meints, Jr.; brother, Conrad Meints; and sister, Esther Halverson.
He is survived by his wife Ayako; daughter, Barbara (Gary) Lingenfelter; son, Robert; brother, Glenn of Belmond; sisters, Grace Haugen of Dows, Karen Ofstethun of Clarion and Marion Carpenter of Alexander; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
