Benjamin B. Guy was the son of William Charles Guy and Sarah B. Armitage. He married Blanche West. They had one daughter Ruth I. Guy.

Ben Guy 42 a city mail carrier, died suddenly at his home 1209 East Ninth street, shortly before noon today, following a stroke of apoplexy. Becoming ill while on his route he went to his home and was stricken as he started to enter the bathroom. Mrs. Guy found him lying unconscious upon her return from attending the Karwath funeral. Benjamin B. Guy was born in Davenport, April 22, 1892, the son of Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Guy, 929 East Fifteenth street. He was educated in the city schools and on Sept. 11, 1913 was married in Clinton, Iowa, to Miss Blanche West. Prior to his marriage he was connected with the mail service as a special delivery messenger. Fifteen years ago he returned to service as a city carrier, first in Bettendorf and later in Davenport. He was a member of the Letter Carriers association. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Sawyer, Bettendorf; two grandchildren, Alan and June Sawyer, Bettendorf, his parents Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Guy; four sisters, Mrs. W. A. Ceperley, Mrs. Lillian Roege and Miss Evelyn Guy, all of Davenport; Mrs. Helen Dunn, Cedar Rapids, and one brother, Harry of Moline. The body was removed to the McGinnis funeral home pending arrangements for the funeral services.
