RETIRED FIRE CAPTAIN, HARRY W. GUY, DIES - Harry W. Guy, 79, of 3803 10th Ave., Ct., Moline, a former captain with Moline Fire Department, died this morning in Moline Public Hospital. The body is at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, where visitation is from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Guy, born in Davenport, married Harriet Gellerstedt, Sept. 18, 1916, in Detroit. He was a captain with the fire department, retiring in 1948, and later was employed for two years at John Deere Plow Works, Moline. Survivors include the wife; son, Bruce A., of Moline, and daughter Patricia (Marlowe) Jacobs, Moline; five grandchildren; three sisters. Mrs. Keith Dunn, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Elizabeth Ceperley and Lillie Roege, both of Davenport. Mr. Guy joined the department May 4, 1926 and was promoted to captain, Jan. 1, 1937. He was the first secretary-treasurer of the Moline Firefighters Local Union.
