Pioneer Resident Of Vulcan Dies
Mrs. Parmelia Keafo, 89, pioneer resident of Vulcan, died last night at the Anderson Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.
She was born October 8, 1873, in Quebec, and came to Vulcan with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Deschais, as a child. Her husband, George, preceded her in death in 1914.
She was a member of St. Anne's Altar Society of St. Barbara's church.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Peter Orler, of Norway; a son, Omar, of St. Charles, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Bortoli, of Vulcan, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Asp Memorial Funeral Home after 7 tonight.
Services will be held at 8:45 tomorrow morning at the funeral home and at 9 at St. Barbara's church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Przybylski will intone the requiem mass. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
St. Anne's Altar Society will recite the rosary at 7:30 tonight. The parish rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.
