William C. Bacon Died Wednesday
In Nursing Home



William Carl Bacon,78,died last Wednesday at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville after a long illness.

The retired farmer was a native of Tattnall County and attended Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Burkhalter of Glennville; a son, Harvey Bacon of Glennville; two sisters, Mrs. D.E. Banks of Glennville and Mrs. Mildred Dechenaux of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother, Pratt Bacon of Glennville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder W.H. Durrence and Elder J.W. Durrence officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Revis Banks, Larry Banks, Adger Kicklighter, Evertt Durrence, Thurmond Brannen, and Bill Medlock.

Honorary pallbearers were Ed Banks, Gerald Brannen, Billy Joe Brannen, Carlton Durrence, Slaton Durrence, Carlos Blocker, Otis Harrell, Barney Dubberly, Ronald Brannen, Hugh Dorsey Smith, Zettle Smith, L. Luther Durrence, Paul Bacon, M.D. Bacon.

Waters Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge.
